Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is a skilled member of the health team who provides medical and educational services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician, according to Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Protocol, and within the scope of their License in the State of Wisconsin. This individual works within a cooperative department, utilizing team effort with health care providers, co-workers, and the public to provide positive patient interaction.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

_For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation._

**Required Education:** Master’s Degree in Nursing/Physician Assistant.

**Preferred/Optional:** None

EXPERIENCE

**Minimum Required:** None

**Preferred/Optional:** Two years nursing experience.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

Minimum Required

+ Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact License or Physician Assistant

+ Nurse Practitioner Certification awarded by a national certifying body.

+ Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber Certification awarded by the State of Wisconsin.

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of employment.

+ Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association.

+ Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association.

**Preferred/Optional:** Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
