Job Description
This position is responsible for applying the Multi-Modal Economic Benefit Analysis (MMEBA) platform, developed with the Transportation Economic Development Impact System (TREDIS), the Michigan Department of Transportation’s (MDOT’s) primary tool for evaluating the economic impacts of transportation investments. The role also uses the Regional Economic Models, Incorporated (REMI) platform as a forecasting and cross-check tool to ensure consistency and reliability in results. These tools support estimates of the economic benefits generated by transportation investment packages across multiple modes, Five-Year Programs, economic stimulus initiatives, and other assigned projects.
Additionally, this position conducts traffic analyses to prepare Travel Analysis Requests (TARs) for trunkline projects identified in MDOT’s Five-Year Transportation Program (5YTP), working under the guidance of a senior-level traffic analysis planner or higher. The position also develops and applies technical skills and tools essential to transportation planning, including Geographic Information System (GIS), travel demand modeling software, socio-economic data development, freight data analysis, and statistical/data analysis. It generates critical data to support MDOT’s planning processes and travel demand models within the SUTA Section.
The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate at the entry(9)level through the maximum rate at the professional(P11)level. Based on education and experience, candidates will be reviewed to determine what level they are qualified for.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major with at least 30 semester (45 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: planning (city, community, environmental, regional, and/or urban), environmental studies and/or sustainability, environmental sciences, engineering, statistics, mathematics, geography, geographic/geospatial information systems, logistics and/or supply chain management, or economics.

Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
