Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineer/Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of industry experience in power delivery, technical expertise, and leadership skills to support and drive projects across multiple operating companies (opcos) and internally within Alabama Power Company (APC). This role is pivotal in ensuring that our software solutions meet the evolving needs of field crews, engineers and the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Lead, manage, and participate in multi-opco and internal APC projects focused on software development and application updates.
+ Engage with users to gather requirements through user stories and direct interactions, translating these needs into actionable technical specifications.
+ Support users of current applications and train new users on these systems
+ Collaborate with developers or independently create solutions to meet user requirements.
+ Work closely with vendors to ensure adherence to project deadlines and requirements and configure vendor-developed applications
+ Maintain and enhance existing applications – most used languages: Python, C#, and .NET, JAVA
+ Utilize tools like Power BI and OutSystems
+ Identify opportunities to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into workflows and applications by evaluating, implementing, and optimizing AI-driven solutions to address departmental challenges
+ Proactively research emerging technologies and develop strategies to ensure the department and its programs continually benefit from AI advancements.
+ Foster strong communication and collaboration among stakeholders to ensure project success.
+ Apply creative and open-minded approaches to solving problems with technology, exploring innovative solutions and adapting to changing requirements.
Qualifications:
+ 2+ years of field experience or related industry experience.
+ Preferred, but not required working knowledge of languages like Python, Java, C#, and .NET
+ Preferred experience with Power BI, OutSystems, or other relevant software tools.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
+ Bachelor’s degree preferred.

+ Experience in leading cross-functional project teams.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Strong vendor management skills.
+ Creative and open-minded approach to technology-driven problem-solving.
