Department/Employer Operating Hours Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm How many hours per week are required? 10-12 Description of Primary Duties GENERAL FUNCTION KSMU and Ozarks Public Television are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented work study student to serve as a Community Engagement and Marketing Specialist. This role supports the station’s community engagement efforts by helping KSMU and OPT connect meaningfully with the communities we serve. This position supports audience growth and diversification by creating engaging content, managing social media presence, and assisting with marketing and community events. The role is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented student interested in media, communications, or nonprofit outreach. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Social Media Management + Maintain and update KSMU and OPT’s social media platforms with timely, relevant content. + Monitor engagement and respond to inquiries. Marketing & Design + Create and distribute approved marketing materials including media kits, sponsorship packets, and digital/print ads. + Use tools like Canva to design graphics for social media, events, and promotions. + Develop promotional web tiles for station programs and events. Membership & Program Guide Support + Assist in preparing monthly OPT program guide content (e.g., program highlights, KIDS FOCUS , membership ads). + Coordinate with Printing and Postal Services for distribution. Event Support + Help plan, promote, and staff community and fundraising events such as Seuss Science Day, KSMU Trivia Nights, and online auctions. Cross-Department Collaboration + Work with the production team to promote local documentaries and national programming. Inclusive Engagement + Contribute to a welcoming environment that values a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives. Other Duties + Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the success of KSMU and OPT .
