Job Description

We are looking for a Data Engineer to work for a leader in the utility industry. In this role you will be responsible for developing two tools (excel based) and eventually be moving to MS database and store the data for multiple jobs in creating reports and determining data trends and action items. This tool will be focused on helping the organization better cost estimate (box removals, alignment, cost).

Other initiatives this tool will help solve is the following:

Portfolio analysis tool and a ton of regulatory requirements with risk reduction targets (unit cost, CBR’s). They don’t want to impact their portfolios plan and different mitigation alternatives have different risk levels and overhead hardening. Choose best installation method to ensure they are under or over cost, have better cost control.

They would love to have this tool to provide heat mapping initiatives.

Upgrade their tracking system and how they manage their work.

Current state: excel based tracker for all they are reviewing

They currently have historic data for cost of jobs for cost estimates and unit sheets build to the jobs. Tabulate that data cost drivers and aggregating cost drivers for these unit costs. The data is not easily manipulated either and takes a ton of time to analyze.

Document controlling and how the scoping world works and thousand different documents and creating a process diagram and racis diagram and control those documents as they get placed to help the program continue to operate.

We need this support to hit ground running, be a go-getter and take initiative.

Skills and Requirements

- 4+ years of experience with PBI and Excel being able to develop reports (understand how to build dashboards, tell story behind data, and educate those on how to view data)

- Ability to articulate reports to leadership and drive those insights across the business

- Experience with Power Query as the excel reports are connected to it

- Excellent oral and written communication - Experience with SAP (pulling data from SAP and building reports)

- Experience with Power Automate (future state of innovation)
