### Job Duties
Job Title: Donor Experience Officer
Department: Alumni Annual Fund
Classification: Exempt
Grade: 10
FTE/Working Schedule:1.0
Position Overview:
This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) exempt, campaign funded through June 30, 2028, benefit-eligible staff position. Some travel, as well as some evening and weekend work, is expected.
The Donor Experience Officer is responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and implementing innovative digital strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward donors. The role will have a particular focus on engaging recent graduates and mid-level donors. This position will also develop comprehensive metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of these outreach efforts. The role is critical to helping Carleton achieve its near-term annual giving goals, continue to grow alumni participation, and share major and planned gift referrals for the College's long-term fundraising objectives.
The Donor Experience Officer will be an integral part of a well-organized and highly collaborative Alumni Annual Fund (AAF) team that is nationally recognized for its success. The team is particularly known for its excellence in alumni participation through a volunteer-driven, peer-to-peer outreach model. This position will ensure that Donor Experience Officer outreach thoughtfully complements the personal outreach from classmates, as the Annual Fund works to achieve its ambitious annual fundraising goal of over $11 million from alumni, parents, and friends of the College.
Compensation:
The expected starting salary range for this position is between $58,000 and $60,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

Initiate dialogues using diverse outreach methods, including phone, email, social media, Zoom calls, video, and other creative approaches, to assess their interests and capacity. You'll leverage campus activities, regional events, affinity groups, and online communications to create personalized engagement opportunities and relevant content.
• Lead digital outreach during peak campaigns such as the end of the calendar year, Carleton's Maize & Blue Daize giving day, and the close of the fiscal year. This involves making solicitation calls and texts, and overseeing the execution of a comprehensive digital engagement and solicitation strategy.
• Work effectively with a broad range of staff, including Alumni Relations, Stewardship, and Development Officers, to maximize fundraising potential and achieve shared goals.
Additional Job Responsibilities:
Planning, Analytics & Performance
• Create an annual work plan with specific goals and metrics for activity, reviewing it monthly with the Director of the Alumni Annual Fund.
• Work with the Director to identify and analyze developing trends in donor engagement and giving patterns to inform strategy. Individual performance metrics will be set annually based on your assigned portfolio and will include measures such as:
o Digital Touchpoints Executed: Total number of outbound communications (emails, texts, social media messages, Zoom calls) initiated by the officer to their portfolio.
o Portfolio Engagement Rate: Percentage of the assigned portfolio that has engaged through digital channels (e.g., opened an email, clicked a link, responded to a text/message, participated in a Zoom call).
