    **The community you'll be caring for** **:** AdventHealth Riverview

     

    AdventHealth is expanding our medical expertise, innovation, and state-of-the-art technology to southern Hillsborough County through a brand-new hospital in Riverview, which is scheduled to open in 2024.

     

    The new AdventHealth Riverview hospital will include 82 beds at time of opening with space to expand to 202 beds in the future.

     

    This $250 million project in Riverview also includes a 100,000 square foot, four-story Medical Office Building that will provide community members convenient access to expert care.

    The role you'll contribute** **:

    Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The primary responsibility is the provision of medication distributive functions and pharmacy operational tasks. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting the pharmacist with all duties of preparing and dispensing of medications, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. Performs duties necessary for the effective daily operation of all department services and programs. Accurately responds to medication dispensing requests, prepares medications for pharmacist final review/check, delivers checked medications, and returns unused or expired medications to appropriate pharmacy areas. Prepares and organizes pharmacy medications by name and dosage, as listed on patient orders. Supports pharmacists and provides distributive pharmacy services to ensure safe and accurate medication services, supporting all those involved in direct patient care.

    Leads or contributes to compliance audits, documentation, and medication-use process improvement initiatives. Prepares reports, assists with compliance documentation, and supports operational accountability, transparency, and readiness for regulatory inspections and accreditation surveys.

     

    Collaborates actively with pharmacy staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and ensure continuity of pharmacy services across shifts, staffing assignments, and practice areas. Serves as a liaison between pharmacy and clinical teams to resolve medication-related issues. Mentors technicians and supports onboarding, competency validation, and peer development.

     

    Leads or participates in departmental quality improvement projects, educational initiatives, and practice advancement efforts. Supports training programs and contributes to the development and mentorship of pharmacy learners and staff.

     

    Executes advanced pharmacy technician duties with autonomy and precision across core workflows, hospital systems, and pharmacy operational programs. Demonstrates expertise in medication dispensing, preparation, inventory management, sterile compounding, controlled substance handling, and regulatory compliance. Demonstrates proficiency in advanced pharmacy services,

    Qualifications

    High School Grad or Equiv Required

    1 Work Experience Required

     

    Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT-LIC) Required
