Job Description
This position provides general custodial activities under general supervision for all state-owned structures, land, and state-maintained structures and grounds. Duties are performed according to regularly assigned schedules, with priority given to specific areas/locations. Activities may include light maintenance, operation of equipment as needed, routine cleaning and housekeeping, groundskeeping, special maintenance and repair activities, special events, and other related work as required to maintain a pleasant, healthful, aesthetic, and secure environment for all staff and clientele. **_Note:_** Shift differential is paid from 6:00PM-8:30PM at $2.25/per hour.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Knowledge of different types of flooring/floor covering sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials, agents, and equipment.
+ Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, bleaches, scouring agents, and soaps sufficient to appropriately select the agent(s), handle and apply, and dispose of safely.
+ Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to use effectively and operate safely and to make minor repairs.
+ Ability to have the physical health and endurance sufficient to perform work functions.
+ Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions.
+ Ability to perform assigned tasks with limited work direction and ability to keep simple records.
+ Must have a valid Minnesota State class D driver’s license.
Preferred Qualificat** **ion
+ Thorough knowledge of building custodial practices and procedures and equipment, materials, and supplies.
+ Special Class C Boilers License or higher, or the ability to obtain one.
+ Current class A CDL driver’s license.
+ Ability to write reports.
+ Some knowledge of building utilities maintenance, and repair.
