Overview:
INTECON LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Budget Analyst to support the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Protective Service (FPS) Region 9. This position provides professional administrative and budget execution support for FPS headquarters and field operations through analysis of financial data, budget tracking, report preparation, and program documentation. The role ensures timely, accurate financial reporting and supports leadership decision-making on budget execution and resource planning.
Roles and Responsibilities:
+ Develop, maintain, and analyze spreadsheets and financial reports to monitor FPS Region 9 program obligations, expenditures, and budget execution status.
+ Track funding allocations and budget adjustments in coordination with FPS finance and program offices.
+ Prepare monthly and quarterly financial summaries, variance reports, and reconciliation documents for management review.
+ Support budget formulation by collecting data, compiling justifications, and updating spreadsheets for upcoming fiscal years.
+ Maintain and archive budget records and correspondence in accordance with FPS and DHS records management policies.
+ Coordinate meetings, briefings, and taskers related to financial and administrative operations.
+ Provide analytical and administrative support to leadership in responding to financial inquiries and audits.
+ Collaborate with Secretaries and Administrative Assistants to ensure consistent reporting and document accuracy across FPS offices.
+ Uphold confidentiality and integrity of financial information in all reporting activities.
Clearance Requirement:
+ Must pass Tier-1 Background Investigation to obtain DHS Public Trust Suitability.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field (required).
+ Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in budget formulation, financial analysis, and administrative support for federal or state agencies (required).
+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and SharePoint; experience with federal financial systems (e.g., PRISM, SMART, Oracle or equivalent).
+ Understanding of federal budget formulation and execution processes, appropriation law basics, and financial reporting standards.
+ Strong written and verbal skills; ability to prepare clear summaries and briefings for senior leadership.
+ Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DHS Suitability/Public Trust determination.
