Salary: Prorated based on $50,000
Job Functions General Duties
+ Participate in the Student Assistance Team (SAT).
+ Supervise students during contract time.
+ Maintain high levels of communication with parents, students, and staff.
Essential Duties
The following duties are representative of the position, although not an exhaustive list. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Attendance Support
+ Coordinate and monitor student attendance.
+ Collaborate with district social workers on attendance letters and truancy procedures.
+ Communicate proactively with families and community partners to address attendance concerns.
Behavioral Intervention
+ Support students and teachers in addressing behaviors that negatively impact the learning environment.
+ Collaborate with associate principals and counselors to facilitate Tier 2 behavior intervention groups.
+ Assist in the supervision of lunch and after-school detentions as assigned.
+ Provide supervision in hallways, lunchroom, classrooms, and other areas as needed.
+ Guide teachers in documenting and responding to minor classroom-level referrals, including communication with families.
+ Respond to minor office referrals (attendance behaviors, cell phone violations, classroom disruptions, etc.) and help resolve issues efficiently.
+ Analyze behavior referral data monthly and share findings with building leadership.
+ Maintain consistent communication between school and home regarding minor behavior concerns that may impact student success.
+ Support the use of RULER tools and strategies to assist students with emotional regulation and behavior management.
Building Support
+ Assist the main and counseling offices with assigned tasks or projects.
+ Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the school's overall operations.
Licensure and Required Qualifications
+ Valid License through the Iowa Bureau of Educational Examiners (Coaching or Paraprofessional license only does not qualify)
+ History of successful classroom or building experience.
+ Demonstrated success working with educator teams to address attendance and behavior challenges.
+ Successful completion of a criminal background check.
+ Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Proficiency in technology to support workflow, intervention tracking, and student progress monitoring.
