    The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting for a Training Associate in Northern Idaho (Post Falls and Lewiston).

    Program Training Associate Key Responsibilities:

    + Promote public awareness of pesticide laws, rules, and standards

    + Communicate with division personnel and design, develop and disseminate compliance outreach materials

    + Assist in developing and implementing training curriculum and presentations for pesticide licensing exams.

    + Design, develop and modify compliance templates for regulatory recordkeeping requirements

    + Provide chemical use/risk assessment resources to the public, growers, dealers and manufacturers involving endangered species protection, worker protection, and water quality.

    + Provide training to industry establishments on new regulatory requirements or common violations that are occurring due to lack of understanding.

    + Provide general education, training, and information to licensed applicators on pesticide use and chemigation practices.

    + Assist and support applicator license exam proctoring

    + Identify, assess, and educate individual professional and private applicators, dealers, and manufacturers of pesticides for compliance with environmental laws, rules, and standards

    + Evaluate and provide education to agricultural producers and workers and pesticide applicators for compliance with the Worker Protection Standard

    + Conduct handler trainings for non-certified applicators of Restricted Use Pesticides.

    + Conduct remedial training with pesticide applicators involved in recent violations or pesticide incidents

    + Responsible for ensuring all financial transactions related to your position, and those of your direct reports if applicable, are processed timely, accurately, and in accordance with ISDA’s policies and procedures.

    + Maintain and submit appropriate documentation to Fiscal to support the purpose of and to validate all transactions, obtain required approvals, and seek prior advice and approval for non-routine transactions that are not easily defined within the ISDA’s policies and procedures.

    + A cell phone with an Idaho area code, furnished by the employee is required for this position and is eligible for reimbursement under the Cell Phone Reimbursement policy.

    + Provide routine reports and administrative documents as required

    + Support divisional compliance assistance and training programs as assigned

    + Conduct other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Some knowledge of training methods

    + Experience creating and conducting educational presentations.

    + Experience writing narrative reports.

    + These qualifications are typically gained by at least 3 months of job experience or completion of a class in the equivalent subjects.

    Desirable Qualifications:

    + Some knowledge of training methods

    + Experience interpreting and communicating technical and specialized material into information usable by the public

    + Ability to communicate (oral and/or written) using the Spanish language

    + A current Professional Applicator’s license with the Consultant and Research category

    + Some knowledge of the use, hazards, and disposal of pesticides

    + Some knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to pesticides, hazardous materials, and/or environmental issues.

    + Good knowledge of computer operations and word processing software.

    + Valid driver’s license
