    Job Title: Field Engineer

    Job Description

    The ideal candidate will work on construction sites and be responsible for monitoring construction activities associated with building industrial facilities. This hands-on role requires strong technical skills and often involves working closely with construction crews and resolving issues that arise during construction. This position is open to locations in the East Coast and Central Region of the USA and will require the incumbent to travel to the field to oversee the construction site.

    Responsibilities

    + Experience with heavy civil sitework, grading construction, and soil compaction.

    + Review construction drawings and specifications, ensuring the contractor performs grading and compaction operations in conformance with the lines and grades shown on the drawings and according to the specifications.

    + Monitor installation of stormwater systems in accordance with construction drawings and specifications.

    + Experience with installations of erosion control devices.

    + Coordinate with contractors and home office engineers on the contractor's requests for information.

    + Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.

    + Minimum 4 years of Site Civil Engineering experience.

    + Engineer in Training Certification or Professional Engineer licensure preferred.

    + Experience with grading and Earthwork site design.

    + Experience with Roadway / Paving design & specifications.

    + Geotechnical knowledge (soil placement and compaction, sitework prep, roadway / heavy haul paving design).

    + Ability to travel and work from the construction site.

    + Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Construction management skills.

    + Experience in reviewing construction drawings and specifications.

    + Proficiency in coordinating with contractors and engineers.

    Work Environment

    Active construction site environment with a requirement to travel. A per diem allowance will be provided to cover travel expenses.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, North Carolina and travels for projects.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $57.00/hr.
