Job Title: Hardware Engineer
Job Description
Join our team as a Hardware Engineer, where you will collaborate closely with Electrical Engineers and Manufacturing teams to troubleshoot issues, enhance quality and efficiency, and develop test fixtures. Your role will involve working with a variety of harnesses, boards, and finished components, focusing on improving current product lines and creating new fixtures and manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
+ Develop test fixtures to support manufacturing and engineering.
+ Work with CAD software to document wire harnesses, design fixtures, and other designs.
+ Assemble manufacturing prototypes, test fixtures, and supporting wire harnesses.
+ Troubleshoot at various product levels, including boards, wire harnesses, products, and systems.
+ Utilize Engineering Change Processes to manage design changes and validate them through assembly and testing.
+ Conduct PCB schematic design and board layout to support manufacturing or testing.
+ Perform PCB prototype assembly or modification, including thru-hole and surface mount rework.
+ Identify and develop tests and design changes through discovery and critical thinking.
+ Enter electrical BOMs and production processes into ERP systems.
+ Apply Continuous Improvement methodologies to optimize testing, fixtures, production processes, and designs.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
+ Understanding of the fundamentals of electronics.
+ Experience in electronic design and manufacturing/building a product.
+ Proficiency in reading and understanding schematics and board layouts.
+ Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
+ Hands-on experience with test equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, electronic loads, and oscilloscopes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Knowledge or hands-on experience with serial communication protocols (RS-232, RS-485, RS-422, UART).
+ Understanding of Ethernet and USB protocols.
+ Experience with analog circuitry (buffering, filtering, single vs differential signaling).
+ Experience with digital circuitry (logic, microcontrollers, bus topologies).
+ Understanding of power regulation and components (linear, switching, BJT vs FET).
+ Experience with motors and motor controls (brushed, brushless, quadrature encoders).
+ Understanding of standardized connectors.
+ Experience with Electronic CAD Software and Mechanical CAD Software.
+ Experience with 3D printing.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $43.27/hr.
