    As an Automation Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain automated solutions to streamline business processes across Duquesne Light Company (DLC). Leveraging RPA and Power Automate, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful automation projects that enhance operational efficiency and user satisfaction.

     

    You will work proactively with business subject matter experts and IT stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, define requirements (user stories), and deliver robust, scalable solutions. Your work will directly contribute to DLC’s transformation and operational excellence.

     

    **Location: Hybrid -** downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

    Responsibilities:

    + Ability to scope, design, develop, deploy, test, and monitor RPA and Power Automate solutions

    + Define and communicate business value for automation initiatives

    + Collaborate with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and clarify requirements

    + Work closely with other developers and business analysts to ensure feasibility and alignment of automation solutions

    + Design solutions leveraging best practices, including Robotic Enterprise Framework and queues, Software Development best practices

    + Troubleshoot and resolve issues in deployed bots or automated flows

    + Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of automation standards and practices

    + Provide after-hours support during critical release cycles (e.g., hyper care after initial production deployment)

    + Maintain comprehensive documentation for all developed automations

    + Stay current with industry trends and best practices in automation

    + Ensure knowledge transfer and support for automation solutions

    + Storm role duties as assigned

    Education and Experience Required:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience (e.g., Associate’s degree with 4+ years relevant experience)

    + 2+ years of relevant software development experience

    + Hands-on experience with UiPath and Microsoft Power Automate

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience with programming languages such as Python, .NET, or JavaScript is a plus

    + Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) is preferred

    Skills/Abilities:

    + Ability to define, document, and optimize business processes for automation

    + Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

    + Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills

    + Adaptability and customer focus

    + Experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines
