    JOB SUMMARY

    The MEIHSS Administrator supports the Director in guiding Elders In-home Care at the Muckleshoot Tribe. This role helps coordinate in-home elder care services, ensuring they meet both cultural and quality standards. The administrator fosters communication across care teams and supports effective program delivery. They assist in reporting and planning activities, helping keep operations running smoothly. In partnership with community members, they help shape responsive, respectful elder care. This position works closely with staff to reflect the Tribe’s values in every aspect of service delivery.

    MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Support seamless delivery of in-home elder care services with culturally respectful coordination.

    + Collaborate with HR, APS, and Tribal leadership on investigations and complaint resolution.

    + Step into director’s role when absent to maintain leadership continuity and team support.

    + Assist with day-to-day scheduling, ensuring staff coverage aligns with community needs.

    + Help prepare clear, informative reports on care activities, keeping the director well-informed.

    + Support staff development by encouraging effective communication and collaboration.

    + Foster strong working relationships with community members to address elder care needs.

    + Aid in staff assignments, ensuring duties are equitably and efficiently distributed.

    + Monitor service delivery to ensure consistency with the Tribe’s quality and care standards.

    + Help gather feedback from staff and elders to inform service improvements.

    + Assist maintaining accurate records to support program evaluation and history.

    + Serve as liaison in community outreach, representing MEIHSS informally and respectfully.

    + Step into administrative roles as needed, maintaining operations without disruption.

    + Assist in managing and organizing documentation to ensure smooth program administration.

    + Work collaboratively with the director in responding to evolving needs among elders.

    + Provide hands-on support in field duties, stepping into diverse tasks as required.

    + Provides direct supervision and oversight of the MEIHSS Nursing Department Staff

    + Oversee documentation accuracy in electronic health records (EHR).

    + Work closely with Human Resources and Director to issue disciplinary action and employment related issues.

    + Ensure compliance with federal, state, and tribal regulations, including HIPAA and WAC standards.

    + Because of the Tribe's commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.

    EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING FOR POSITION

    Required:

    + Bachelor’s degree in social science, health administration, gerontology, human services, or related field

    + Washington State Administrator License

    + Five (5) years of supervisory experience in home health care or elder services.

    + Five (5) year of supervisory support experience in a health or social services setting.

    Knowledge:

    + Familiar with elder care and home health practices

    + Understanding of tribal cultural values and contexts

    + Knowledge of effective communication frameworks in care settings

    + Understanding of administrative workflows and reporting needs

    + Awareness of in-home service coordination best practices

    + Insight into community based elder support approaches

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    This position occasionally requires standing, walking, bending at the waist, kneeling, grasping, and reaching to manage files or assist in care-related tasks. Light lifting or pushing up to ten pounds may be necessary when handling supplies or documents. Regular driving within the service area ensures responsiveness to home visits and care coordination. Excellent close vision helps when reviewing detailed records or observing elder needs, and accurate color differentiation supports tasks like medication organization or documentation flags. Clear hearing is important for effective communication, including listening through ambient household noise or during conversations with elders and staff. Office noise levels are generally moderate, allowing for focused administrative work. This role demands physical adaptability and situational awareness to support elders both in-office and out in community settings.
