    BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Strategic Business Unit Manager role is a senior level position within the department responsible for leadership of either major aspects of one of our Category SBU's (MA, MW) or another strategically significant business within the department including but not limited to: Exclusive Brands, APO, Co-Op, Tier Two or other similar needs. This role could be an individual contributor, manager of associates, or manager of managers position depending upon the circumstance. This position will be responsible for activities tied to our departmental and company-wide strategic direction. These areas of responsibility will typically include larger profit centers, budgets and high degrees of cross-functional coordination. Strategic and action is central to this role as is the need for highly effective communication with all stakeholders. This role may report to Category Strategy or Category Operations depending upon the focus area and could report to various levels of leadership.

    DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Develops and executes strategic plans to drive performance in the focus area.

    + Acts as a bi-directional conduit into Category for a closed-loop connection with the Sales Organization

    + Manages teams or associates, managers, or other cross-functional stakeholders to perform to goal within the selected focus area.

    + Drives profitable and sustainable results tied to the department and company strategy and aligned with all stakeholders.

    + Attracts and manages teams to high levels of performance and developing future leaders within the department and company.

    + Stays current on market and landscape changes to position area of focus effectively and competitively.

    + Drives analytical rigor to inform current performance and future opportunities in line with departmental and company objectives.

    + Motivates high levels of associate engagement and inspired people to perform beyond their goals.

    + Identifies, develops and maintains influential relationships with external partners at high levels of support strategy.

    + Effectively manages budget to continually driver higher levels of performance at lower expense.

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

    + Bachelors' Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a Related Field required.

    + Minimum of ten years of experience demonstrating results in areas with high levels of complexity and strategical significance required.

    SKILLS:

    + Strong execution focus; drive for results required

    + Excellent communicator in all forms

    + Self-motivated, creative thinker able to build and drive a vision from ideation to implementation.

    + Strong leadership skills

    + Financial acumen

    + Able to manage several disparate tasks simultaneously and effectively

    + Lifelong learner and open to challenging established paradigm

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    + A valid driver's license and the ability to travel up to 25% of the time may be required.

    + This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information ( ITAR ) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information ( CUI ).

     

    Compensation starting at $109340-- $171820,-depending on experience.

    The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate s relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. -The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.-
