**VCA Aurora Animal Hospital** is expanding its Pet CancerCare Center and is seeking a **Veterinary Technician** for our **Medical Oncology Services** !
**Schedule:** Weekday, full-time opportunity.
**Compensation:** $ 24 - $ 34 / hr.
Starting range is determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field
Our Medical Oncology Service:
At VCA Aurora’s Pet CancerCare Center, our multidisciplinary oncology team designs an individualized treatment plan for each pet patient using the most advanced and effective treatments available—much like those used in human medicine.
**Position Overview:** We are seeking a **Veterinary Technician** to join our **Medical Oncology** team. This is a great opportunity for a technician who is passionate about specialty medicine, wants to make a difference in the lives of pets and their families facing cancer diagnoses, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Assisting with chemotherapy administration and safety protocols
+ Handling oncology patient intakes, treatments, and follow-up appointments
+ Providing compassionate support and clear communication to pet parents
+ Collaborating with the Oncology team and other departments
+ Obtaining and preparing lab samples (blood, urine, cytology, etc.)
+ Performing radiographs and monitoring imaging procedures
+ Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment logs

Qualifications:
+ 2+ years of veterinary technician experience
+ Proficient in placing IVCs and monitoring anesthesia
+ Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
+ Ability to remain calm and compassionate in emotional or urgent situations
