Measurement Tech Analyst I: $52,700 - $65,900
Measurement Tech Analyst II: $64,500 - $80,600
Sr Measurement Tech Analyst: $72,900 - $97,200
*Scheduled Work Hours:*Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Other hours as required)
*Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:*
The Measurement Technology (MTech) Analyst position is responsible for ensuring the meter assets of the organization are supported by monitoring the day-to-day deployment and health of meters in the field and inventory. This includes analyzing metering issues and identifying improvements to business processes. As a subject matter expert, this position formulates requirements, based on department needs, and confers with supervision and other MTech Analysts to discern applicable business processes and industry requirements.
This position will oversee the set-up of electric meters in various metering and customer systems to assure that metering parameters are assigned correctly. The MTech Analyst will have oversight over the Landis Gyr AMI, Meter Data Operations (MDM) and Operational Device Management (ODM) systems serving as the first line troubleshooter for the systems and network equipment. This position also supports the MV90 system with regard to the hardware, software, translation, reporting and maintenance of the system. The applicant must be able to correlate metering data with billing data to ensure the health of the overall AMI system and analyze bill cycle performance. The successful candidate will also contribute through technical and analytical support; PC network, hardware, and software support for field personnel; budgeting analysis and scorecard reporting.
*Major Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited to:*
• Maintains meter setup accuracy in metering systems.
• Identifies and recommends/proposes new processes to increase efficiency and productivity, and improve functionality, reliability and quality.
• Follows policies and procedures to ensure corporate data security and change control.
• Serves as primary contact for assigned business function/unit for all daily production problems.
• Verifies, updates or adds multiplier and measuring component attributes in metering systems.
• Coordinates tasks and issue resolutions with vendors and internal personnel in IT, Billing, Metering and Load Research departments.
• Serves as an internal customer advocate by responding to inquiries from Billing, Load Research and other departments.
*Education and Experience Requirements:*
The preferred candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in business, information technology or a related field. They will also have experience working with various computer systems and database applications as well as a strong technical background in maintenance and reliability applications. Prior experience in the utility industry and/or technical related field around reliability and maintenance is preferred. Typically has one of the following:
• Advanced Degree or approved certification and 1-year business analyst experience.
OR
• Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years business analyst experience.
OR
• 8 years of business analyst experience.
OR
• 5 years of relevant experience in ODM/MDM, CCB/CIS, MV90 and L G Command Center systems.
*Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:*
• Understands meter characteristics and the effects they have on customer billing accuracy.
• Expertise in standard concepts, best practices and company procedures related to at least two Evergy business functions.
• Working knowledge about Evergy technology applications used in assigned business functions.
• Increasing familiarity with the complexity and inter-relatedness of business functions and company technology applications.
• Understands and recognizes when business practices can be improved through technology.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ensures meter setup accuracy within ODM, MDM, CCB, Wattnet Plus, Itron, and AMI systems.
• Uses planning skills to coordinate and complete projects on time and on budget.
• Exercises sound judgment when making decisions.
• Maintains a high level of professionalism at all times.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and work under pressure and time constraints.
• Strong interpersonal skills to resolve problems in a professional manner, lead working groups, negotiate and create consensus.
• Assists internal and external customers with metering data as needed.

Working Conditions: Much of the time will be spent in an office environment. There will be some travel necessary, but very minimal. Must have satisfactory work record including good attendance.
