    Summary:

    The Senior Manager, Technical Services, is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Asset Management, and Reliability Programs supporting critical manufacturing operations at the Raritan site. This role ensures the integrity, availability, and performance of production equipment, infrastructure, and related assets, driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Managing internal teams and external vendors and consultants, the Senior Manager leads subject matter experts (SMEs) in asset management, GxP asset services management, and production equipment, fostering a culture of safety, compliance efficiency, and innovation.

     

    A key focus of this role is to bring more digitalization into asset management practices by leveraging artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and advanced analytics throughout the asset lifecycle. Additionally, this role supports investigations related to GxP assets, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement in asset reliability and performance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Asset & Reliability Leadership:

    Lead the Asset Management Specialist team focusing on manufacturing equipment, assets, reliability programs, GxP contract management, and digital transformation initiatives to optimize asset performance, lifecycle, and predictive maintenance capabilities.

    CMMS Oversight:

    Manage the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure accurate data entry, asset tracking, work order management, and reporting. Drive system optimization to enhance maintenance planning, predictive analytics, and incorporate AI and IoT solutions for smarter asset management.

    Planning & Execution:

    Develop and implement asset management strategies aligned with site goals, including asset lifecycle planning, preventive maintenance, condition-based monitoring, and digitalization efforts.

    Continuous Improvement:

    Drive reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), root cause analysis, lean practices, and digital innovation to improve equipment uptime, reduce downtime, and lower costs.

    Regulatory & Safety Compliance:

    Ensure all asset management activities comply with GxP, EMA, FDA, OSHA, and other relevant regulations. Lead safety, environmental, and GxP investigation support programs related to asset performance and deviations.

    Data & Performance Analytics:

    Utilize data from CMMS, IoT sensors, AI-driven analytics, and other systems to monitor KPIs, analyze trends, and implement data-driven improvements to asset reliability and maintenance processes.

    Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support:

    Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, MSAT, EHS, Maintenance, CQV and Site Leadership, among others to support infrastructure upgrades, equipment validation, and operational initiatives, including design reviews and development of installation/validation plans for new assets and retrofits.

    Budget & Resource Management:

    Oversee budgets related to asset management and reliability programs, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation and sustainability.

    Asset Lifecycle & Site Master Plan:

    Support the Site Master Plan and Oversee the Asset Replacement Management Program to ensure infrastructure longevity and operational resilience.

    Design & Validation Support:

    The team will support in the design review of new assets and retrofits, developing detailed design, installation specifications, validation, and commissioning plans to ensure regulatory compliance and operational readiness.

     

    Integrate Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives into team goals and decision-making.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    Education:

    + Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, focus degree in Engineering, or related field is preferred.

    Experience and Skills:

    Required:

    + Minimum 8 years of experience in facilities management, asset management, or reliability engineering, with at least 5 years in leadership roles within regulated industries (biopharmaceuticals preferred, Cell Therapy manufacturing is a plus).

    + Proven expertise in CMMS systems, asset lifecycle management, GxP compliance, and digitalization strategies involving AI and IoT.

    + Experience managing production equipment assets, reliability programs, GxP contract oversight, and GxP investigation support.

    + Strong vendor management skills and experience

    + Deep understanding of infrastructure systems, safety standards, and regulatory requirements (EMA, FDA, OSHA).

    + Demonstrated ability to lead change, foster continuous improvement, and embed a culture of safety and quality.

    + Strong analytical skills and understanding of CQV processes, maintenance and understanding of digital tools, AI, and IoT in asset management.

    + Proficiency using tools such as fishbone diagram, value stream mapping, process mapping, Five Whys, etc to optimize process improvement, and problem solving.

    + Project management experience working with cross functional teams

    + Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

    + Lead safety, environmental, and compliance programs, including inspections, audits, and risk assessments, to uphold the highest standards.

    + Budget management, cost efficiencies and financial tracking

    + Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences effectively.

    + Advanced analytical skills to monitor KPIs, analyze data, and implement data-driven improvements.

    Preferred:

    + Strong negotiation contracting skills with external vendors/consultants.

    + Operation Excellence Certification (Green Belt, Black Belt) is a plus.

    + Knowledge in calibration program is a plus.

    + Cleanroom experience in GMP/GxP environments as a strong plus.

    Other:

    + May require up to 20% domestic and/or international travel for site support, vendor management, and project oversight.

    + Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift materials or equipment as needed.

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

    $120,000 to $207,000
