             Job Description As an Engineering Manager in the Systems Engineering department, you will lead ~30 high performing engineers across multiple domains and technologies. The role requires high levels of engagement with not just the people reporting to you, but also every program that we staff. A technical background and experience in program and people leadership is required. The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers missions. What You ll Do: + Lead and manage within the Mission Engineering Department which develops and implements processes and practices that ensure common Mission understanding within the organization. This includes: IRAD/CRAD capture, overhead management, training and career development, and support to the overall strategy for the organization. + Provide leadership and functional direction by exhibiting behaviors that would include a unifying vision, understanding the diverse needs of others to meet business challenges, and acting with humility and a collaborative spirit. + Support cross-enterprise communication and collaboration to provide best practices and institutional knowledge to all pursuits. + Establish, develop, and maintain strong relationships with Engineering peers, internal stakeholders, and external customers. + Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. + Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. + Perform other duties as necessary. **On-Site Work Environment:** This position requires regular in-person engagement by working **on-site five days** each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required. Working Conditions: + Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment. + May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required. + May access other facilities in various weather conditions. Required Education, Experience, & Skills + BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 12 or more years related experience. + Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. + A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required. + Experience in developing system architectures, architecture trade studies, performance analysis, mission modeling, system architecture realization, system CONOP. + Experience in space-based systems engineering or ground-based systems engineering. + Experience in technology management and strategic direction preferred. + Experience with model-based systems engineering preferred. + Ability to be self-motivated and detail oriented. + Possess excellent critical thinking skills. + A drive for results and executional excellence. + Comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels of the organization. + Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams. + Comfortable operating at a fast pace. + Team building skills. + Organizational skills. + Budgeting/cost estimating experience. + Solid customer service, accountability, professionalism, and interpersonal skill set. + Excellent communication and listening skills. + Commitment to creating an inclusive environment where all employees can thrive. \#LI-NP1 Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills + An advanced degree is preferred. Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $150370 - $255630 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
