Essential Functions: + The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Technician will carry out the day to day operations of the EHS area and contribute to the application of effective Environmental, Health and Safety management by providing technical and safety support. + Provide support to with specialized coordination support for the EHS Department. + Provide high-level administrative support by conducting research, preparing reports, handling information requests, and performing clerical functions such as preparing documents, archiving, arranging and scheduling meetings and coordination of special EHS related activities. Responsibilities: + Support and assist with the preparation of safety plans and JSA. + Review and assess contractor safety program requirements (Health and safety plans, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Worker Compensation Insurance, and others) for proposed work or task. + Enforce OSHA and PROSHA safety guidelines, programs, and continuous monitoring of all safety related documents, reports and issues to keep them updated. + Collaborate with, EHS Coordinator to ensure safety measure implementation. + Verify and inspect safety tools and equipment, to promote safe practices. + Prepare and track EHS compliance documents, as requested. + Provide support and access incidents, accidents and near misses to complete the investigation process, preventive and corrective activities. + Promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees, contractors and visitors. + Maintains supplies inventory anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies and equipment; verifying receipt of supplies per requested by the EHS Head/Client. + Keep inventory and orders necessary supplies and parts to maintain adequate inventory of EHS Area equipment and materials. + Prepare supplies and equipment for environmental and occupational testing and assists with the set-up for testing. + Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Environmental, Health and Safety management. + Assists with Environmental Compliance requirements such as Spill Control Plan, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, Waste Water sampling, Air Permit Recordkeeping, Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste disposal and recordkeeping. + Maintain relevant EHS logs, records and documentation and assure the compliance of applicable laws and regulations. + Prepare applicable EHS reports as necessary and assist in the preparation of EHS site permits, certifications, programs and plans. + Maintains supporting documents for hazard assessments and inspections-audits according to EHS regulations and client requirements. + Observe EHS regulations, procedures and policies, wears all required safety equipment, encourages safe working practices, corrects noticeable hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel. + Maintain positive and proactive relations with management, employees, contractors as well as our customers and regulatory agencies. + Participate and commit to continuous improvement activities, including auditing, surveys and quality programs. + Assist in emergency response activities. + Handle confidential and controlled documents (complaints, financial reports, performance appraisal, work orders, etc.) + Assist staff in preparing office reports and data gathering. Edit, format, and check for grammatical accuracy of office reports. Review administrative documents for outdated or irrelevant material and updates the information as appropriate. Prepare and manage a variety of lists, forms, and reports, including office personnel rosters, purchase orders and emergency recall list using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software. + Organize and maintain department permanent records and files within applicable procedures and standards. + Support administrative problems by coordinating preparation of reports, analyzing data, and identifying solutions. + Strictly follow the company’s safety, cGMP, Human Resources policies and procedures. Qualifications Requirements/Knowledge/Education/Skills: + Associate degree or Technical College Degree is required. + Bachelor’s degree preferred Physical Requirements and Working Environment: + While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate equipment’s, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, talk, or hear; sit; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and smell. The employee may lift and/or move up to 25-35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. + He / she may frequently work inside weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts, exposed to wet and or humid conditions, and an odorous atmosphere, may be exposed to fumes and the risk of electrical shock, and occasionally work on ladders in high places, in small spaces, such as lift/metering stations, manholes, tanks and wet wells. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
