• Mainline Utility Operator

    Aerotek (Lutherville Timonium, MD)


    Aerotek's client is seeking a Mainline Utility Operator to join their team in the Timonium, MD area

    Responsibilities

    + Perform daily equipment greasing, morning walk-arounds, and fluid checks.

    + Complete daily maintenance checklist to maintain equipment and preserve maintenance records.

    + Adjust hand wheels and depress pedals to control attachments such as blades, buckets, scrapers, and swing brooms.

    + Start engines and operate machines such as bulldozers, excavators, graders, and backhoes.

    + Align machines and equipment with guidelines or hand signals from other workers.

    + Coordinate machine actions with other activities and position loads based on hand or audio signals from crew members.

    + Load and move dirt, rocks, equipment, and materials using trucks, tractors, power cranes, shovels, graders, and related equipment.

    + Drive and maneuver equipment with blades to remove topsoil, vegetation, and rocks, and to level terrain.

    + Set trench boxes and dig inside them while maintaining a safe work environment.

    + Operate equipment safely around workers and existing utilities.

    + Excavate and grade trenches with precision for depth, slope, and stability.

    + Participate in morning huddles and toolbox talks with Foremen and Superintendents.

    + Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

    Essential Skills

    + 5+ years of experience in mainline utility operations.

    + Proficiency in operating excavators, loaders, dozers, and other heavy equipment.

    + Familiarity with blueprint reading and wet utility operations.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in pipe laying or operating in the utility space is a plus.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
