Description We are looking for a skilled Property Accountant to join our team in Poway, California. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a background in real estate or property management accounting. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, analytical abilities, and proficiency with property management software to effectively manage financial operations and reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and review tenant account ledgers, including deposits, late fees, monthly charges, and security deposits.

• Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and cash flow processes.

• Prepare and post journal entries to support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closings.

• Perform accrual calculations and create journal entries for mortgages, taxes, and insurance.

• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.

• Analyze revenue and expense accounts, providing insights to support budgeting and forecasting.

• Collaborate with off-site property managers and vendors to ensure smooth financial operations.

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and maintain compliance with accounting standards.

• Ensure timely and accurate financial documentation across all projects.

• Utilize property management software to track and manage accounting data effectively. Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management.

• Bachelor’s degree or significant coursework in accounting or finance.

• Proficiency with accounting software and familiarity with property management systems like Yardi.

• Strong skills in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

• Positive attitude and a strong work ethic, contributing to a collaborative team environment.
