Description

We are looking for an interim Sr. Accountant to join our client on a contract-to-hire basis. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who excels in cost analysis, budget involvement, and financial reconciliation while collaborating closely with operational teams. The position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success of a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed cost analysis, including production and variance tracking, to provide actionable insights for operational adjustments.

• Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting and recognition of expenses.

• Collaborate with plant operations teams to understand and address cost discrepancies directly on the production floor.

• Participate in budget preparation and provide support for forecasting activities.

• Prepare and review financial statements during month-end and quarter-end processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

• Identify and resolve reporting inaccuracies while implementing process improvements for greater efficiency.

• Support annual audits and quarterly reviews by providing accurate financial data and resolving outstanding issues.

• Analyze production order variances, including cost and usage trends, to advise business decisions effectively.

• Work with SAP systems to manage cost accounting tasks and maintain updated financial records.

Requirements • Proven experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.

• Strong knowledge of standard cost accounting principles and practices.

• Proficiency in SAP for financial and cost accounting tasks.

• Ability to perform in-depth cost analysis and variance tracking.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Comfortable working collaboratively on the plant floor with operational teams.

• Solid understanding of budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Effective communication skills to present financial insights and recommendations.
