Description

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This role supports the Controller in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and strengthening internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports to support accurate month-end and year-end closings in accordance with GAAP.

+ Manage daily cash flow, monthly bank reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, tax filings (including sales/use tax and Canadian Revenue Agency returns), and 1099 reporting.

+ Support annual audits, maintain internal controls, and assist in developing and updating financial policies and procedures to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

+ 2–4 years of accounting experience; public or manufacturing experience a plus.

+ Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.

+ Proficient in Excel and ERP systems (experience with Syteline preferred).

+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
