A Snapshot of Your Day
As
Operations Field Service Engineer you will be part of the Grid Enhancing
Technologies Operations Team, focusing on engineering and execution activities
for all portfolio elements. The role involves performing commissioning services
at site, configuring and testing solutions and producing electrical engineering
deliverables such as drawings and schematics.
Responsibilities
also include managing technical documentation and ensuring high-quality outputs
and customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
HowYou’ll Make an Impact
• Coordinate, review, and
manage projects to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
• Conduct Factory
Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and commissioning; respond
to RFIs and update “As-Built” documentation.
• Prepare electrical and
mechanical drawings, assembly details, and bills of materials using E-Plan
software.
• Develop comprehensive
documentation for installation, commissioning, and field wiring.
• Configure industrial
communication protocols including IEC 61850, Modbus, IEC 60870-5-104, DNP3, and
OPC UA.
• Monitor project progress
through meetings and field visits with customers, suppliers, and technical
teams.

WhatYou Bring
• Associate degree in
Electrical, Automation, Electronics, Mechatronics, or similar required; bachelor’s
in engineering or technology (e.g., Computer Science, Systems Analysis)
preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience
in electrical engineering for industrial or utility projects, with automation
systems knowledge—preferably SIEMENS (TIA Portal, SIMATIC S7-1200, SICAM
A8000).
• Proficient in industrial
communication protocols (MODBUS, IEC 61850, OPC UA) and Windows system
configuration.
• Familiarity with
technical drawings; E-Plan experience desirable.
• Strong preference for
Spanish-speaking candidates; valid passport required for 50% travel, including
international assignments.
• Must be legally
authorized to work in the U.S. without employer-sponsored visa; internal
transfers may be available for current Siemens Energy visa holders
