As a Senior Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in creating and maintaining purchase orders for direct materials, indirect products, and services using MRP/ERP systems. You will lead the RFQ processes, evaluate supplier quotes, and make strategic sourcing recommendations. Your role involves monitoring order requests, tracking deliveries, and resolving supplier issues, including discrepancies in receipts and invoicing.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and manage effective supplier relationships, ensuring communication and alignment of commitments.
+ Conduct supplier visits and evaluations as needed.
+ Support supplier interactions, primarily for RFQs and lead time management.
+ Collaborate actively with internal teams such as Logistics, Accounts Payable, R&D, and Manufacturing on schedules, delivery status, and payment issues.
+ Support R&D with New Product Introduction (NPI) programs through hand-off to manufacturing.
+ Ensure adherence to approved procurement processes, guidelines, and company policies.
+ Lead process development and documentation for tactical initiatives.
+ Perform purchasing-related financial analysis and update metrics as needed.
+ Provide independent, analytic, and strategic support to the organization.
+ Identify supply chain issues and propose solutions with limited guidance.
Essential Skills
+ 2-5 years of industry-specific experience and a degree.
+ Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably Misys.
+ Experience with PLM systems, preferably Windchill.
+ Strong understanding of the RFQ to PO issuance process.
+ 2-4 years of experience in technical environments, such as semi-electronics or electromechanical.
+ Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems for order management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Willingness and ability to work primarily onsite in Salem with some remote flexibility.
+ Strong people skills for managing RFQs and lead times with existing suppliers.
+ Ability to handle change management and monitor multiple open items to completion.
+ Experience with BOMs (Bill of Materials) and change management processes.
+ Ability to work effectively within a supply chain team and collaborate with internal departments.
+ Demonstrated initiative and adaptability in a dynamic, growing organization.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Commitment to following approved procurement processes, guidelines, and company policies.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Salem, Oregon.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $42.00/hr.
