Position Summary
Amergis is seeking passionate and qualified Special Education Teachersto provide high-quality instruction and support to students in grades K–12.Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, this roleinvolves planning and implementing individualized programs, collaborating withgeneral education staff, and ensuring students receive the support they need tothrive academically and socially.
This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with a strong partnership inplace—internal conversion is highly encouraged after 960 hours.
Key Responsibilities
+ Deliver specialized instruction aligned with student IEPs
+ Provide tutorial assistance and collaborate with general education staff
+ Support students’ academic, behavioral, and emotional development
+ Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal regulations
+ Participate in team planning and professional development
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
+ Valid state teaching certificate or eligibility to appear on MSDE public lookup
+ Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred)
+ Preferred certifications:
+ Standard Elementary Teaching
+ Standard Secondary Teaching
+ Standard Special Teaching
+ Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement
+ Current CPR certification (if applicable)
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
+ Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
