    GCI's Marketing Strategist I will take high level company marketing strategy and apply across various marketing channels and tactics. Design and execute integrated communication and engagement plans by assessing competitive landscape, deeply understanding marketing trends, defining and measuring goals, and engaging key partners and creative teams along the way. Assigned to a primary focus area.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AT ALL LEVELS:

    + Design and implement marketing strategies aligned with business targets.

    + Generate innovative ideas to identify new opportunities.

    + Create content for product promotions and all marketing collateral and product launches.

    + Design and implement effective marketing materials (social, email, web, print, etc.) to drive product and service customer growth.

    + Develop and measure campaigns to increase sales.

    + Analyze sales and marketing metrics.

    + Forecast marketing trends.

    + Ensure brand consistency through all marketing channels.

    + Use customer feedback to ensure client satisfaction.

    + Serve as subject matter expert in emerging marketing trends and internal resource for front line staff inquiries and implementation.

    + Demonstratable experience with marketing campaigns and marketing technologies.

    + Proven track record of learning new processes, systems, platforms.

    + Experience in marketing operations, project management and execution, and channel and platform management.

    + Knowledge of key marketing principles necessary to analyze the market and introduce plans, programs, and promotions to meet market demand.

    + Learn and maintain knowledge of competitors, customers, and product & service solutions to position the Company as the leader in each market served.

    + Outstanding attention to detail, highly organized with strong analytical skills.

    + Knowledge of Company customer service strategy and process highly preferred.

    + SAFETY & SECURITY - Supports a safe work environment by following all workplace safety rules and guidelines; complies with applicable Security policies and procedures.

    + Proficient computer skills and MS Office knowledge (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) to complete job duties effectively.

    + Experience and knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite required.

    + Experience in multiple marketing technology channels such as website content management systems, data/analytical platforms, and direct communication channels (email, SMS, social) is strongly preferred.

    Additional Job Requirements:

    Entry level within the strategist role working under close supervision. Conducts assignments as directed and supports management and senior teams. Responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans, promotions, and incentives to achieve maximum growth and retention. Works collaboratively within the company developing and communicating processes required to sell and service customers. Develops marketing tactical plans and programs. Supports sales and customer support with an emphasis on achieving customer growth, retention, and market share.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Required: *A combination of relevant work experience and/or education sufficient to perform the duties of the job may substitute to meet the total years required on a year-for-year basis

     

    + High School diploma or equivalent.

    + Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, community relations, public relations, or business administration. *

    + Minimum of three (3) years of experience in marketing, public relations, advertising, or similar environment. *

    + GCI Consumer project experience may be substituted to meet the total years required on a two-for-one-year basis, if approved by the Chief Marketing Officer.

    Preferred:

    + Telecommunications experience.

    + Relevant telecom industry or job specific certifications.

    DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:

    + This position requires driving a company-owned vehicle, company provided vehicle, or a personal vehicle on behalf of the company. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, a satisfactory driving record, and successfully complete Defensive Driving course.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS:

    + Work is primarily sedentary, requiring daily routine computer usage.

    + Position is fast-paced and subject to rapidly changing priorities, multiple deadlines, and some stressful customer interactions.

    + Travel to rural Alaskan markets and company locations/stores required.

    + Ability to attend and work at high profile conferences & events required.

    + Ability to work shifts as assigned, work in standard office/home office setting, and operate standard office equipment.

    + Ability to accurately communicate information and ideas to others effectively.

    + Physical agility and effort sufficient to perform job duties safely and effectively.

    + Ability to make valid judgments and decisions.

    + Available to work additional time on weekends, holidays, before or after normal work hours when necessary.

    + Must work well in a team environment and be able to work with a diverse group of people and customers.

    + Virtual workers must comply with remote work policies and agreement.

     

    The company and its subsidiaries operate in a 24/7 environment providing critical services to Alaskans and may need to respond to public health and safety matters or other business emergencies. Due to business needs employees may be contacted outside of the core business hours to respond to the immediate emergency. As such, you will be requested to provide emergency after hours contact numbers, to include your home and cell phone numbers if you have those services.

    + Write compelling copy for email campaigns and work with other digital team members on design and execution of emails.

    + Report on key metrics, analyzing and interpreting trends and providing actionable insights based on available analytics data.

    + Perform ROI analysis to evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of different marketing campaigns.
