+ Demonstrates accountability for professional development to enhance practice and patient care. + Performs scrub role (required for RNs hired after July 1, 2023). Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors. Performs other duties as assigned.

+ Experience: 0-2 years; BSN preferred

+ Skills: Ability to provide age-appropriate care, apply growth and development principles, assess patient data, and respond to age-specific needs per department policy

+ Interpersonal: Strong relationship-building with all levels of staff and patients/families

+ Work Environment: Able to work effectively in complex settings with shifting priorities and specialized equipment

+ Clinical Judgment: Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to lead others in applying the nursing process

+ Physical Requirements: Mobility, manual dexterity, and stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and patient positioning

Licensure & Certifications:

+ Current RN license

+ CPR certification (AHA standards) within 30 days of hire

+ UPMC-approved national certification preferred

Additional Info:

+ UPMC offers flexible scheduling options, including night/weekend programs with premium pay (requires 6+ months of nursing experience and orientation during regular hours)

+ Act 34 clearance required
