The Senior Manager, Global Technology Finance Business Partner (FBP) will be responsible for ensuring financial transparency across key Global Technology (GT) initiatives within Marriott’s GT department. Core responsibilities include processing, tracking, and managing all accounting aspects of hotel billings, budgeting, cost optimization, forecasting (Estimates at Completion), evaluating and establishing appropriate capital treatment of expenses, submitting accurate financial reports (including accruals), and preparing financial reports and presentations for assigned projects and departments.
The Senior Manager will also contribute to the design and implementation of financial reporting best practices. This role involves close collaboration with other Finance Business Partner teams, Corporate Accounting, Continent Finance teams, and operational groups within Global Technology and the Business Transformation Office to provide oversight and transparency into the operational and financial health of assigned GT initiatives.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
+ Provide accurate, timely, and actionable financial information, reporting, billing, and analysis related to the financial operations and management of Global Technology’s (GT) large-scale initiatives and special projects.
+ Ensure alignment of project costs with management agreements to support accurate and compliant cost allocation and recovery from participating hotels and/or system-wide funds. Deliver timely and precise cost analyses to support accounting procedures and respond to inquiries from internal management, Legal, Owners, and auditors. Oversee accounting and forecasting for project-specific debt and interest, and develop cost distribution methodologies.
+ Generate general ledger reports, queries, Mosaic project cost data, and other financial inputs to monitor and analyze overall project costs. Utilize cost monitoring tools and forecasting processes to identify potential issues early and keep project management leaders informed.
+ In coordination with the Global Finance FBP, ensure all program and project costs are accounted for in accordance with approved policies. This includes tracking costs allocated from various Marriott departments for shared resources, hardware/software, and licensing and maintenance.
+ Partner with the Global Finance FBP to deliver internal financial reporting and variance analysis for all GT projects. This includes detailed forecasts of deployment and development costs, hotel owner recovery (actuals and projections), revenue recognition activities, cash flow reporting, balance sheet Prepared by Client (PBC) work papers, and other audit-related schedules.
+ Collaborate with Marriott Accounting teams to provide necessary documentation and accounting support for projects requiring revenue recognition and/or capitalization and amortization of internally developed software initiatives.
+ Prepare and present project financial updates as needed for Marriott’s financial reporting and planning processes, Steering Committee and Corporate Growth Committee meetings, and Owner and Franchisee meetings.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
+ Minimum 5 years’ financial management experience, including Project Controllership experience
+ Strong functional leadership and finance knowledge; able to leverage this strength to influence business team strategies and decisions.
+ Able to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously; ability to translate business needs into operational financial management priorities.
+ Able to consistently make decisions in a timely manner sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines and pressure. Comfortable challenging organizational norms and accepted thinking to improve effectiveness.
+ Able to orchestrate systemic change – initiates, supports and manages change within the organization, taking steps to remove barriers or to accelerate its pace.
+ Knowledge of generally accepted finance and accounting policies, principles and controls; as well as Marriott-specific accounting and finance processes and systems.
+ Operates with a collaborative mindset to ensure that key stakeholders are considered, eliminating the need for duplicate systems; builds strong relationships to leverage information and insights to anticipate and respond to project risks; communicates well with project and other leaders; openly shares and does not withhold information.

Education and Professional Certification
+ Baccalaureate degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline required
+ Certification in IT Project Management, including ITIL and Agile development, a plus
