Job Title: MIG Welder
Job Description
A Welder performs welding processes for the fabrication and assembly of metal carts, cabinets, or stainless tables and carts. The role requires the ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, stoop, pull, push, assemble, and carry for extended periods of time, up to 10 hours per day. The welder should be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance from another team member.
Responsibilities
+ Determine the appropriate welding process, equipment, or method based on product requirements.
+ Set up components for welding according to job specifications.
+ Follow all safe manufacturing, material handling, and PPE procedures.
+ Follow written and verbal directions to complete assignments or jobs.
+ Perform all duties in accordance with company procedures.
+ Conduct quality checks of all finished processes and work.
+ Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ MIG welding
+ TIG welding
+ Fabrication
+ Experience in steel welding
+ Welding certificate or 1-3 years of on-the-job MIG welding experience
+ Proficient with hand and power tools
+ Proficient in using a tape measure and reading blueprints
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to combine schooling and on-the-job experience
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
