Job Title: Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking two highly skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanics/Technicians to join our team. This position offers a first shift opportunity with ample overtime available. Mechanics will work in both shop and field environments, troubleshooting and repairing equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, skid steers, and dump trucks.

Responsibilities

+ Work safely and identify and address Service Center hazards.

+ Collaborate with the Service Center Supervisor and review work orders.

+ Inspect equipment to identify service or repair needs.

+ Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment.

+ Test components using diagnostic devices.

+ Disassemble units to inspect for wear and repair.

+ Follow manufacturer documents and checklists for thorough maintenance.

+ Test-drive equipment post-maintenance to ensure proper functioning.

+ Complete service records and tag equipment/tools.

+ Respond to emergency calls outside normal business hours.

+ Maintain a safe work environment for all personnel.

Essential Skills

+ Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues on heavy equipment.

+ Basic understanding of equipment operation.

+ Experience in hydraulic repair.

+ Skills in diesel engine and electrical troubleshooting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High School Diploma or GED.

+ Valid Driver's License.

+ Automotive maintenance training and experience.

+ Experience with small tools and light/heavy equipment.

+ Basic computer skills, including typing, email, and internet use.

+ Problem-solving and mechanical reasoning abilities.

+ Ability to interpret service manuals and schematics.

Work Environment

This hybrid role involves work both in the shop and in the field. Candidates must have a valid driver's license to travel as needed. Work conditions include frequent indoor work, periodic outdoor exposure, and infrequent travel. Candidates should be prepared for a physically demanding role involving lifting, standing, and manual dexterity.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Davidson, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
