Job Title: 2nd Shift Slitting Operator

Job Description

Join our team as a 2nd Shift Slitting Operator in the Commercial Finishing department. You will play a crucial role in operating the Winding/Unwinding machine to reroll finished wallpaper into desired lengths per bolt. This position offers a great opportunity for growth and advancement.

Responsibilities

+ Operate the Winding/Unwinding machine to reroll finished wallpaper.

+ Load rolls, set measurements, and start the process.

+ Inspect wallpaper for quality to ensure there are no rips or defects.

+ Wrap finished products and place them on pallets for shipping.

+ Organize and track work orders using paper documentation.

+ Assist with driving the pull truck or 'carpet puller' using a forklift if needed.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in machine operation and inspection.

+ Ability to lift 40 lbs throughout the shift.

+ Basic math skills.

+ Attention to detail and ability to use a tape measure.

+ Mechanically inclined and able to operate a slitter machine.

+ Forklift experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Strong attention to detail and quality control.

+ Safety-oriented mindset.

+ Ability to manage paperwork effectively.

Work Environment

Work in a Commercial Finishing department that is not completely climate-controlled. The facility features fans at each machine and fatigue mats. The department includes 4 Unwinding/Winding Machines, 2 forklifts with pole attachments, and electric pallet jacks. The dress code is warehouse professional, with toed boots required, and customers frequently visit the warehouse. Ensure pants or shorts are worn appropriately and avoid sweatpants or basketball shorts. Cell phones and earbuds are not permitted on the floor, but a speaker may be used at a reasonable volume. Training will initially be on the 1st shift, transitioning to the 2nd shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
