Job Title: Housekeeper
Department: Support Services
Position Summary
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a safe, hygienic, and sanitary environment in assigned agency buildings. Duties include cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining common areas, offices, bathrooms, kitchens, and other facilities to ensure a clean and healthy environment for staff, youth, and visitors.

Compensation
$16.00 – $16.81 per hour in the first year

Hours/Schedule
Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Position Specific Duties/Responsibilities
+ Clean and sanitize bathrooms, showers, locker rooms, kitchens, and health offices daily
+ Check and refill soap and paper dispensers as needed
+ Clean, vacuum, and dust offices and common areas; perform high and low dusting weekly
+ Sweep, dust, mop, and vacuum floors
+ Sanitize hand-contact points (phones, door handles, switch covers, etc.)
+ Spot clean doors, glass, walls, and carpets as needed
+ Assist with refuse removal and major cleaning tasks (e.g., windows, walls)
+ Attend to emergency housekeeping needs
+ Request supplies and recommend replacement of items beyond repair
+ Maintain all work areas and equipment in a safe, sanitary condition
+ Attend mandatory trainings and supervision meetings
+ Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks
+ Ability to maintain safe and sanitary work areas
+ Flexibility to respond to emergency housekeeping needs
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
+ Strong communication skills with staff, supervisors, and others
Qualifications
+ High School Diploma/GED (required)
+ Valid driver’s license (required)
+ Previous custodial or housekeeping experience (preferred)
+ Ability to pass an annual physical per agency health policy
+ Compliance with agency safety standards and healthy work environment practices
