Data Analyst
Job Description
Join our team and work with various operating company management teams to ensure the timely recovery of costs included in base rates and approved recovery mechanisms. Support analytical studies that provide alternative approaches and recommend regulatory strategies to maximize revenue generation and optimize the return on invested capital.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare testimony and exhibits to support regulatory applications.
+ Analyze intervenor testimony to formulate responsive testimony and assist with cross-examination strategies.
+ Prepare data request responses during general rate cases and other petitions.
+ Assist with support required during Commission hearings.
+ Support preparation of cost of service and cost allocation studies in accordance with Commission regulations.
+ Develop, interpret, and input approved rates into the customer billing system accurately and timely.
+ Verify the accurate calculation of customers’ bills.
+ Provide comprehensive financial support, including accurate financial reporting of regulatory items within external filings, financial plan updates, and internal management reporting.
+ Collaborate with other internal departments such as Legal, Financial Planning, and Accounting.
+ Compile, organize, analyze, and format data for base rate case filings and other regulatory reports and filings.
+ Ensure accurate financial records.
+ Maintain awareness of state projects and matters to provide good customer service.
+ Ensure seamless information flow amongst team members.
+ Embrace and utilize new technologies and strive for continuous improvement.
Essential Skills
+ BS/BA in accounting, finance, economics, or other business discipline.
+ Strong attention to detail.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Solid working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
+ Strong interpersonal skills.
+ Proficiency in data analysis, finance, and Microsoft Excel functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
+ Strong ability to deliver results.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role requiring presence in the office from Tuesday to Thursday. The work environment is collaborative, engaging with multiple departments to ensure effective communication and seamless operations. Employees are encouraged to embrace new technologies and continuously improve their skills.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $63.75/hr.
