Special Education Teacher | $40–$42/hr | Carlsbad, NM | 2025–2026 School Year

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to support middle and high school students in Carlsbad, NM. This in-person role begins ASAP and runs through May 21, 2026, with a mixed caseload and classroom support provided.

Position Details

+ Location: Carlsbad, NM

+ Start Date: ASAP (Estimated: November 17, 2025)

+ End Date: May 21, 2026

+ Duration: 23 weeks

+ Schedule: Monday–Friday, ~7:45 AM–3:30 PM

+ Hours: 37.5/week

+ Pay Rate: $40–$42/hr

+ Modality: In-person only

+ Caseload: Middle and High School, mixed caseload

+ Support Staff: Paras, BTs, Nurses (details in interview)

+ Interview Format: In-person or virtual

Responsibilities

+ Provide instruction and case management for students with disabilities

+ Collaborate with general education staff and support personnel

+ Implement behavior de-escalation strategies

+ Participate in testing coordination with LSSPs, Diagnosticians, and SLPs

+ Maintain compliance with district and state regulations

Requirements

+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)

+ Valid state teaching certificate (SPED endorsement preferred)

+ Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred)

+ CPR certification, TB/PPD clearance, and health certificate as applicable

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
