Maintenance Technician – Emergency Shelter (Haverhill, MA)

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is working with a respected non-profit organization in Haverhill, MA to fill a full-time Maintenance Technician position. The successful candidate will join the facilities management team to provide preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance services across multiple sites, including residential apartment buildings and program offices.
Training and support will be provided to help the right candidate grow into the role.
Position Details
+ Location: Haverhill, MA
+ Facility Type: Emergency Homeless Shelter
+ Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
+ Duration: 13 weeks to start, with strong potential for extension
+ Pay Rate: $23/hour
Key Responsibilities
+ Participate in on-call rotation for emergency maintenance (evenings/weekends)
+ Perform basic plumbing, electrical repairs, general maintenance, and cleaning duties
+ Operate floor maintenance equipment
+ Lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) as needed
+ Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor while interacting with staff and residents
+ Travel locally between sites as required
Qualifications
+ Prior maintenance experience preferred
+ Ability to read and speak English; Spanish bilingual strongly preferred but not required
+ Valid driver’s license in good standing
+ Must pass CORI and driving record checks
+ Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19
+ Individuals with lived experience related to housing insecurity or homelessness are strongly encouraged to apply
