Electrical Technician 1 (Pasco, WA)

Summary

The Electrical Technician works independently troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining electrical equipment and ensures all equipment is in safe working condition within the packaging and processing areas of a vegetable processing facility.

Key Responsibilities

+ Maintains all electrical systems from low voltages to 4160 volt

+ Repairs or replaces all electrical devices including but not limited to: breaker panels, motor starters, heaters, fuses, lights, AC drives, motors, electrical switches, etc., all in accordance with state and federal codes including company policies and procedures

+ Maintains and troubleshoots VFDs, soft starts, lighting and control circuits

+ Must be able to install plant equipment, run conduits, pull wire, install switches, breaker panels, etc. as needed to supply power to plant electrical apparatus

+ Works with electrical meters such as amp clamps, volt meters, analog meters, meggers, etc.

+ Must be able to assist all other maintenance personnel in the event of a major plant break down

+ Assists the Instrumentation/PLC Technician

+ Performs other duties as assigned

Typical Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Relevant Experience

3+ years related experience and/or training

Other Information

+ Good knowledge of computer systems

+ Must be familiar with automated control systems and be able to read, understand and maintain electrical drawings and manuals

+ 2+ years experience in a processing environment

+ Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

+ Ability to read and write in English

+ Ability to work any shift, weekend and overtime if required

+ Ability to balance multiple tasks, be flexible and work well under pressure

+ Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision and exercise good judgment
