Job Title: Data Entry Clerk - SD
Pay: $17.25/hr - $22.06/hr
Job Scope:
This job is very busy in nature requiring great attention to detail and accuracy.
Job Summary:
Receive original sales orders, determine what type of order it is, enter it on computer system, and/or process it accordingly.
Required Essential Job Skills/Experience:
1. Operate 10 key by touch.
2. Must be accurate with detail.
3. Training or experience using a computer system.
4. Accurate alpha numeric typing, 50-60 WPM.
5. Good attendance and able to handle a large volume of repetitive work.
6. Good communication skills to resolve questions about sales orders.
Required Essential Job Duties:
1. Reads and interprets typed original sales orders or customer purchase orders.
2. Begin the entering process:
a. Determine what type of order it will be: transfer, outside processing or regular sale.
b. Begin entry into the appropriate program.
c. If an order in any way exceeds the customer's credit limit (i.e. C.O.D., C.I.A., over limit) advise the credit department and sales person and awaits further instructions.
d. Enters specific instructions for shipping, credit terms or special marking of material.
e. Properly enters the sales order lines, according to the inventory item and what material is being used. If problems or discrepancies arise, advises and/or resolves the situation with the sales person.
f. Proofreads the electronically entered sales orders, for accuracy, before filing.
g. Writes on the scratch order the automatic number that has been generated, or if it is a previously printed order or a future, indicates the release number.
h. Matches the scratch to the printed sales order.
i. Proofreads printed copy for accuracy.
3. When required, voids, modifies or cancels sales registers (both hard copies and all their parts,) and follows through electronically.
4. Run Credit Cards on the UTA online system.
Desirable Job Skills/Experiences:
1. One to two years general office experience.
