Job Title: Logistics Team LeadJob Description
The Logistics Team Lead will be responsible for managing the receipt, handling, and safety of goods. The role involves coordinating and controlling the order cycle and associated information systems, as well as analyzing logistical problems to produce innovative solutions. The position also requires the implementation of health and safety procedures and liaising with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers.
Responsibilities
+ Organize staffing, including shift patterns and the number of staff required to meet demand.
+ Develop and improve business performance within the constraints of legislation, fuel costs, and rising environmental pressures.
+ Manage staff training issues and motivate other team members.
+ Project future shipping and receiving needs and collaborate with other department heads to create strategies for meeting those needs.
Essential Skills
+ 3 years of inventory management experience.
+ 1 year of experience leading a team.
+ Proven experience in shipping and receiving management.
+ Strong understanding of warehousing and distribution processes.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
+ Strong leadership and customer management abilities.
+ Ability to manage time and plan effectively.
Work Environment
The role is based in a small machine shop, where the team lead will oversee a team of 3 full-time employees. The position is contract-to-hire, providing opportunities for career advancement.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
