Be part of something new at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center! Our brand-new Observation Unit opens in February 2026, and we’re looking for an organized, compassionate Medical Unit Receptionist (MUR) to help ensure smooth communication, coordination, and patient flow across the unit.
About the Unit:
+ Newly opening February 2026
+ Provides inpatient-level care with ED-style charting and fast-paced workflows
+ Collaborative, team-oriented culture focused on excellence and patient-centered service
+ The MUR plays a vital role in supporting both clinical staff and patient families
Responsibilities Include:
+ Greeting and assisting patients, visitors, and team members with professionalism and warmth
+ Managing unit communication — answering phones, relaying messages, and coordinating patient flow
+ Supporting unit leadership with administrative tasks, record keeping, and regulatory readiness
+ Partnering with nursing staff to ensure patients are accurately assigned and admitted
+ Contributing to a positive, efficient, and patient-centered environment
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or GED required
+ Previous customer service experience required (healthcare or hospitality setting preferred)
+ Strong interpersonal, communication, and multitasking skills
+ Professional, dependable, and comfortable in a fast-paced hospital environment

What We're Looking For
+ Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
+ Experience: One year experience in healthcare, preferred.
+ Licensure/certification/registration: NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.
+ Additional skills preferred: Experience with answering multiple phone lines. Basic computer skills. Excellent customer service behaviors.
