Category Manager - L&M Headquarters (Full-Time)

Category Manager

Our Perfect Match:

We looking to hire a Category Manager to contribute to our Purchasing Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for making purchasing decisions, for an assigned product line, and will ensure adequate inventory levels at the stores and distribution center. If you are a highly organized individual with a Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, etc. and have 5 years of experience in retail Buying, apply today!

Job Type: Full-Time Exempt

Schedule: Monday - Friday, standard business hours

Targeted Pay Range: $65,000-$85,000 per year.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Category Manager will responsible for managing all aspects and activities related to the buying functions of the assigned product category.

+ Oversee assigned category and ensure that sales revenue and profits are maximized

+ Maintain a strong understanding of market conditions, consumer behavior, and current market trends

+ Make decisions on pricing, product orders, advertising, or other related decisions based on market conditions and trends

+ Analyze product sales performance and make assortment decisions

+ Effectively negotiate the best terms, prices, and transportation costs

+ Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors

+ Collaborate with Operations, Marketing, and Merchandising to develop effective and profitable advertising campaigns and merchandising strategies

+ Attend buying shows and participate in vendor meetings.

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, Retail Management, or related field AND

+ Minimum of 5 years of retail Buying experience

OR

+ 2-year degree in Business or related field AND

+ 7 years of retail Buying experience
