Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Louisville, Kentucky. This role requires a strong background in corporate tax, sales tax, and financial accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have exceptional analytical skills and a commitment to accuracy in managing financial records and reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review corporate tax returns with accuracy and compliance.
• Manage sales tax filings and ensure timely submissions.
• Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
• Oversee the general ledger and ensure all transactions are properly documented.
• Conduct reviews of financial reports to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial data.
• Assist in the preparation of tax reports and documentation for audits.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Provide support during month-end and year-end financial closings. Requirements • Proven experience in corporate tax and sales tax processes.
• Strong knowledge of corporate tax returns and general accounting principles.
• Proficiency in handling journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
• Ability to analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies effectively.
• Familiarity with accounting standards and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
