    Description

    Senior Accountant

     

    Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant for a contract role. Reporting to the Controller, this role will handle all aspects of the accounting function including AP/AR, payroll, month-end close, reconciliations, and project financials, while serving as a key liaison with customers, subcontractors, and vendors.

     

    Responsibilities of Senior Accountant

     

    + Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

    + Assist the Controller and CFO with budgets, forecasts, and proformas.

    + Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual closing entries.

    + Maintain general ledger and record accruals, depreciation, and journal entries.

    + Perform cost allocations and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy.

    + Oversee cash flow monitoring and forecasting.

    + Conduct and support physical inventory processes.

    + Process payroll transactions in compliance with regulations.

    + Manage project accounting, including tracking expenses, revenues, and budgets.

    + Perform job cost analysis, project AP/AR, and prepare regular project and WIP reports.

    + Support month-end close and provide financial data for management review.

    Requirements

    Skills/Qualifications of Senior Accountant

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

    + 5+ years of experience in construction accounting.

    + Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

    + Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.

    + Percentage-of-completion accounting experience preferred.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Smartsheet.

    + Knowledge of construction cost accounting software; JONAS preferred.

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

    + Effective written and verbal communication with management and vendors.
