    Job Details

    The Pastoral Care Coordinator will work with administration, the interdisciplinary team and the Chaplains to provide and develop the spiritual care component of Good Shepherd Hospice. Consistent with Catholic Health’s mission to humbly join together to bring Christ’s healing mission and the mission of the mercy of the Catholic Church to our communities, the Pastoral Care Coordinator will be charged with supporting and leading the department to meet the spiritual, emotional, psychosocial, religious and cultural needs of the patients, residents, individuals, family members and entity staff.

     

    This position will be 50% Administrative and 50% Direct Care. The Pastoral Care Coordinator ensures the delivery of a comprehensive program of spiritual care to patients, residents, individuals, their loved ones and staff consistent with the values of the Catholic Health mission.

     

    + Responsible for the development of a spiritual care team & departmental goals that can adapt and support Catholic Health’s mission, vision, and values.

    + Provides direct spiritual and pastoral care to patients and families addressing diverse needs related to age, culture, language, gender, religion/spirituality, education, and ability.

    + Organizes and facilitates frequent worship opportunities, in coordination with senior leadership.

    + Offers counseling and direct spiritual care to patients and families coping with illness, death, grief, or life transitions.

    + Works in close collaboration with internal and external clergy members of various faiths to ensure continuity of spiritual services for patients and families.

    + Coordinates with internal Hospice departments to align both spiritual care and organizational goals.

    + Ensure the documentation of spiritual assessments and interventions per organizational standards.

    + Adheres to Catholic Health Mission & Vision, Ethical & Religious Directives of the Catholic Church, and HIPPA Compliance Program.

    The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

    + Master’s Degree required in Theology, Pastoral Theology, Pastoral Ministry or Divinity from an accredited institution

    + Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) by NACC, NAJC or APC

    + Knowledge of emotional effects of death, grief and loss. Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to patients, residents, individuals, families, professional colleagues and people of all faiths.

    + Ability to function well in a crisis situation. Ability to exercise collegial leadership and shared responsibility.

    + Ability to Integrate the authentic theology, moral teachings, and ethical directives of the Roman Catholic Church, the practical application of the Sacraments for the benefits of patients and family members.

    + Prior supervisory experience a plus.

     

    Salary Range

     

    USD $70,000.00 - USD $85,000.00 /Yr.
