Description
The Microsoft Active Directory/M365/Entra Team Lead is a pivotal leadership role within our Infrastructure Engineering organization. This position is responsible for providing hands-on technical expertise and strategic direction for the Active Directory, Microsoft 365 (M365), and Entra environments. The Team Lead will manage, mentor, and develop a team of skilled Microsoft/Windows engineers, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence across core identity, collaboration, and access platforms. The Team Lead reports directly to the Vice President (SVP) of Infrastructure Engineering, who oversees Exchange, Exchange Online, Internal Private Cloud, Citrix, Desktop, and Remote Access engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Technical Leadership:
• Serve as the subject matter expert for Active Directory, M365, and Entra, providing guidance and hands-on support for complex implementations and troubleshooting.
• Lead the design, deployment, and optimization of directory services, identity management, and collaboration platforms to ensure high availability, security, and scalability.
• Develop and enforce best practices, standards, and policies for identity and access management.
Team Management & Mentorship:
Manage, coach, and develop a team of Microsoft/Windows engineers, fostering a culture of growth, accountability, and technical excellence.
Oversee workload distribution, performance evaluations, and professional development plans.
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across engineering teams, aligning efforts with organizational objectives.
Project Delivery & Continuous Improvement:
Drive projects to enhance Active Directory, M365, and Entra environments, including migrations, integrations, upgrades, and automation initiatives.
Monitor system performance, proactively identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions to optimize reliability and efficiency.
Ensure adherence to security and compliance requirements in all engineering activities.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting:
Collaborate with other team leads and engineering groups within Infrastructure Engineering to deliver integrated solutions.
Provide regular updates, reports, and recommendations to the SVP of Infrastructure Engineering.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory, M365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint), and Entra (Azure Active Directory).
• Demonstrated expertise in identity and access management, authentication protocols, directory synchronization, and cloud integration.
• Proven experience leading and managing technical teams in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate, or equivalent.
• Advanced PowerShell Script experience
Preferred Experience
• 5+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure engineering, with a focus on Microsoft technologies.
• Prior leadership roles in IT infrastructure or identity management.
• Experience with Exchange/Exchange Online, Citrix, private cloud, desktop engineering, and remote access solutions.
• Track record of delivering large-scale projects and driving operational improvements.

This is a Contract position based out of Austin, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95.00 - $105.50/hr.
