Job Summary
The Electromechanical System Assembler II will be responsible for accurately assembling, testing, and packaging prefabricated telecom assemblies into racks or cabinets for processing into the Finished Goods Department. This role involves building telecommunications devices or assemblies that are mechanical or electro-mechanical in configuration, including racks, shelves, back planes, heat baffles, surge protection panels, AC panels, alarms, cabling, and other associated components.
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Accurately assemble and mount prefabricated telecom assemblies into large racks or bays using assembly drawings, diagrams, schematics, and Bill of Materials.
+ Use general hand and power tools proficiently to install assemblies into racks or cabinets.
+ Ensure correct placement and accuracy of all labels per the Bill of Materials.
+ Perform wiring and cable harnessing on assembly units following defined methods and sequences.
+ Conduct manual Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) on ADTRAN products to ensure quality and functionality.
+ Inspect products to ensure compliance with Q50 and IPC-A-610 quality standards.
+ Package accessory kits and documentation with products per ADTRAN quality policies and standards.
+ Crate and package completed assemblies for shipment according to customer requirements.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area.
+ Ensure prompt and regular attendance to support quality workflow.
+ Perform other duties as needed to ensure 100% quality, accuracy, and product verification.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
+ Up to 3 years of experience in wiring and cable harnessing on assembly units.
+ Basic Microsoft Office skills required.
+ Ability to operate a manual pallet jack daily.
+ No travel expected for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Wire wrapping experience preferred.
+ Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
+ Experience with BaaN ERP software preferred.
Essential Physical and Mental Qualifications
+ Regular physical activity involving arms, legs, and whole-body movement.
+ Ability to walk and stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds repetitively.
+ Manual dexterity for assembling small components.
+ Frequent reaching and handling of tools and equipment.
+ Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
+ Ability to interpret instructions, warnings, and safety procedures.
+ Ability to hear alarms and communicate effectively in English.
+ May be exposed to solder fumes; protective equipment provided.
