Job Summary:
The Senior Vice President of Oncology Operations is a senior leader responsible for the overall operational leadership, service line integration, and performance management of WMCHealth’s oncology services. This leader ensures seamless alignment of clinical, academic, and research functions while driving operational excellence, financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and patient-centered outcomes. The VP partners closely with physician, nursing, and research leadership in leading the network’s advancement of excellence in oncology services.
Responsibilities:
+ Operational Leadership & Strategic Oversight
+ Provide executive oversight for oncology services across all oncology service lines and supportive care.
+ Partner with Strategy and Business development leaders on the development and execution of strategic business, operational, and financial plans aligned with system priorities and growth objectives.
+ Ensure high-reliability operations, streamlined patient access, and efficient throughput across the continuum of cancer care.
+ Coordinate efforts across key stakeholders and pillars of oncology services—including pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, pathology, and supportive departments—to ensure integration, quality, and efficiency across the full continuum of care.
+ Serve as a key driver in the Network’s NCI designation journey, coordinating institutional resources, partnerships, and operational readiness.
+ Lead and mentor a high-performing team of directors, managers, and staff.
+ Establish a culture of collaboration with dyad/triad partnerships between administrative, physician, and nursing leadership.
+ Champion workforce engagement, professional development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
+ Accreditation, Compliance, and Quality
+ Ensure adherence to all regulatory and accrediting body standards, including Commission on Cancer (CoC), National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), and Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT).
+ Partner with clinical and quality leaders to sustain a comprehensive quality and safety program, advancing best practices and benchmarking against national leaders.
+ Financial Stewardship
+ Oversee operating budget for oncology services, ensuring fiscal responsibility and achievement of financial and growth targets.
+ Drive operational improvement initiatives to optimize revenue cycle performance, resource allocation, and supply chain utilization.
+ Monitor service line contribution margins, case mix, and productivity metrics, implementing corrective action when needed.
+ Program Development and Growth
+ Lead growth and integration of oncology service lines, including development of new technologies and therapies.
+ Build and sustain referral relationships, regional partnerships, and research collaborations to expand reach and market share.
+ Strengthen the clinical trials infrastructure and research operations in partnership with physician and research leadership.
+ Patient Experience and Supportive Services
+ Promote a patient- and family-centered culture emphasizing timely access, comprehensive navigation, survivorship programming, and supportive services (social work, nutrition, behavioral health, palliative care).
+ Leverage patient feedback, benchmarking, and patient-reported outcomes to continuously enhance the cancer care experience.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience:
+ Nine years of progressive experience in healthcare management or related field, including three years in a leadership role in a hospital/healthcare facility, required
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in business, public health, health administration or related field, required
+ Master’s degree, preferred
