The Center for Immunotherapy & Precision Immuno-Oncology (CITI) is a state-of-the-art hub for immunotherapy research, discovery, and developmental therapeutics with the ultimate goal of making precision immuno-oncology accessible to every patient. The Chan Lab (http://www.lerner.ccf.org/immunotherapy/chan/) is seeking a Research Data Scientist II to apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques, high-performance data architectures, and computational methods to drive immune genomics projects from start to finish. This role involves developing and implementing algorithms, performing complex data analytics, and leveraging programming skills in languages such as Python, R, SQL, SAS, or SPSS to analyze and interpret large biological datasets.
The ideal candidate holds a terminal degree (PhD or MD)-or a Master's degree with significant experience (15+ years) and a strong publication record-in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, or a related biomedical field. A background in genomics, immunology, or cancer biology, along with at least one first-author publication, is highly desired. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong computational and writing skills, the ability to develop and articulate research hypotheses, lead projects independently, and write and present scientific papers.
A caregiver in this position works 8:00am - 4:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Utilize statistical and machine learning techniques, high performance data architectures and technologies to build algorithms and perform data analytics.
+ Utilize methods in the areas of Artificial Intelligence (AL), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), Natural Language Processing (NLP) to design and implement data solutions.
+ Document best practices and solution frameworks.
+ Collaborate with team members to develop analytical techniques.
+ Utilize programming skills in SAS, SQL, SPSS and R or Python to create and design new reports independently.
+ Conduct in-depth data analysis to develop and test hypotheses.
+ Provide guidance to other team members on building basic models.
+ Communicate and present analytical findings to other investigators.
+ Identify innovative technologies available for analytical area.
+ Design, execute, and analyze research projects with occasional guidance and feedback from the Pricipal Investigator.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering or a related field.
+ Four years of experience conducting data analytics, math or statistical modeling or machine learning.
+ Highly proficient programing skills in languages such as SAS, SQL, SPSS, R, Python, or similar.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Master's degree in a similar field. This may substitute two years of required experience.
+ Strongly preferred PhD or MD in a similar field. This may substitute the experience requirement.
+ Computational Biologist experience highly preferred
+ At least 1 first author publication in genomics

Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $76,540.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $116,747.50
The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.). The pay range does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic's benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
